JobBeacon sends notifications by email. There’s no app to install and no browser permission to grant — if you can receive mail, you can receive alerts.
How alerts work
- Every company you watch is checked on a regular schedule.
- For each company, new jobs are matched against your filters.
- If anything matches, you get one email per company listing all the new matching roles.
- If nothing matches, no email — JobBeacon is quiet by design.
The email comes from notifications@jobbeacon.app. Add it to your contacts to keep it out of spam.

Two levels of control
JobBeacon has two switches that work together.
Global toggle (Settings → Notifications)
Your master switch. When off, JobBeacon stops sending you any email — even if individual companies have notifications on. Use this when you’re on vacation or just want a break.
Per-company toggle (company page → Filters card, or Settings)
Each company you watch has its own switch. Mute one without affecting the others.
How they interact
| Global | Company | Result |
|---|
| On | On | You get emails |
| On | Off | Muted for that company only |
| Off | On | Muted (global wins) |
| Off | Off | Muted |
If your global toggle is off and you turn a single company on, JobBeacon automatically flips the global toggle on too. We assume turning a company on means you want to start hearing from JobBeacon again.
Pausing without losing data
Muting a company (global or per-company) only stops the email. JobBeacon keeps polling and tracking new jobs in the background. When you turn notifications back on, you’ll still see the full history on the company page — you just won’t get a backfill email for jobs posted while muted.
I’m not getting any emails
Quick checklist:
- Global toggle in Settings is on?
- Per-company toggle is on for the company you expect to hear from?
- Filters aren’t too narrow? Open the company page and check the “matched” count.
- Inbox / spam. Search your mail for
notifications@jobbeacon.app.
- Account email. Make sure the email address Clerk has on file is one you actually check. You can change it from your profile.
If none of that helps, email support.
I’m getting too many emails
A few options:
- Tighten filters. Add more specific keywords or locations. See Filters.
- Mute noisy companies. Use the per-company toggle.
- Drop companies you no longer care about. Open the company page and click Remove.
