By the end of this guide you’ll be watching at least one company and have notifications turned on. No setup, no install — everything happens in the browser.

1. Create your account

1

Open jobbeacon.app and click Get started. You can sign up with email or Google.
2

Verify your email

JobBeacon sends notifications to the email on your account, so make sure you can receive mail there.
The free plan is enough to try things out. You can upgrade later from Settings → Billing.

2. Add your first company

You only need a URL — JobBeacon figures out which job board the company uses.
1

Open the app

From the dashboard, click Add company.
2

Paste a careers URL

Anything works:
  • The company’s careers page (https://vercel.com/careers)
  • A direct job board URL (https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/acmecorp, https://jobs.lever.co/binance, etc.)
Click Add. JobBeacon detects the platform and starts an initial scan.
3

Wait for the seed scan

The first scan loads every job currently on the board. You’ll see live progress. These existing jobs are marked as seed — you won’t get emailed about them. Only roles posted after this scan count as new.
Don’t see your company show up? See Supported platforms for what works and what doesn’t, and what to do when detection fails.

3. Set up filters

Filters are optional, but without them you’ll get notified about every new job at that company. For most users, that’s a lot.
1

Open the company page

Click the company you just added.
2

Add keywords

Add words that should appear in the job title. Examples:
  • backend, infrastructure, platform
  • product designer, design system
  • senior, staff, principal
Choose Match any (an OR — match if any keyword appears) or Match all (an AND — every keyword must appear).
3

Add locations

Add locations to filter by. Examples: Remote, Berlin, New York, Taiwan. Same any/all toggle as keywords. Some boards (like Workday) don’t always include real location strings. Toggle Include unspecified locations if you want those jobs to come through anyway.
Filters are forgiving — full-stack, full stack, and fullstack all match each other. Capitalization doesn’t matter.

4. Confirm notifications are on

1

Open Settings

Click your avatar → Settings.
2

Check the global toggle

The Email notifications switch at the top is your master kill-switch. Make sure it’s on.
3

Check the per-company switches

Below the global toggle you’ll see every company you watch with its own switch. New companies are on by default.
See Notifications for how the toggles interact and how to mute things temporarily.

5. Wait for the next scan

JobBeacon checks every company on a regular cadence. When a new role matches your filters, you’ll get an email like this:
New roles at Acme Corp – Senior Backend Engineer · Remote – Staff Platform Engineer · Berlin [View 2 new roles at Acme Corp →]
That’s it. You’re done.
